HomeNews & Events2010December Student Voices on Course 8829
Here are a few of the things our students had to say about Course 8829 Modernist Literary Circles: A Cultural Approach this fall (posted with the students' permission):
Thank you, it was a very invigorating class and the rewards of seeing the group's collaborative exhibition come together were quite satisfying. I plan to walk some of my OCAD colleagues through the show to explain the importance of combining both academic and practice based learning.

Thank you very much for inspiring me and encouraging me throughout this entire semester. Not only did you help me understand the concepts and theories in the course, but you taught me about how to be a successful graduate student. Thank you for such an amazing class and experience.

Your course was truly a joy to take and provided the optimum forum to learn about salon culture and the theories within the field while also applying these ideas in a hands-on way. I loved exhibiting my work and speaking about the material with the guests at our vernissage. By the end of the night I was extremely proud of what our class had achieved and also how much I had absorbed over the past few months. Your passion about the subject is contagious. Thank you so much for teaching and offering this course within the ComCult program!

I really enjoyed this class because it was a great learning experience. The subject matter was completely new to me, as was learning how to put on an exhibit, but at the end, I felt as though I grew a lot in my understanding of modernist culture. The night of the exhibit was very exciting--it was great to see all of our hard work come to fruition. The collaborative aspect of the class added something special that really made this class a joy to be a part of.
