MA student in Fashion at Ryerson University (2016-2018), Jaclyn Marcus has had a love for fashion and literature since starting her BA (Honors) in English Literature and Language at Queen’s University (2011-2015). During her undergraduate degree, Jaclyn took creative writing courses and was the Editor-in-Chief of MUSE Magazine. Operating from her MLC office, Jaclyn is an editorial assistant at the Fashion Studies Journal, co-edited by Dr. Ben Barry and Dr. Alison Matthews David and published by Ryerson University’s Centre for Fashion Diversity and Social Change as the first open access journal in fashion studies. Jaclyn’s Major Research Project, supervised by Dr. Irene Gammel, applies contemporary literary theory, fashion theory and identity theory to examine fashion’s impact on the friendships and social identities of young female characters, analyzing in particular Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery and A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
