Priyana's research explores the intersection of democracy and data surveillance, in particular the use of personal data by political parties in Canada and the need for a data protection framework to address regulatory loopholes. Priyana is thrilled about her involvement at the MLC where she plays a vital role in the centre’s research outreach response to COVID-19, providing technology and security support for MLC webinars and online events. Her goal is to round out her knowledge of what she believes to be a critical and timely conversation on theories and representations of pandemics in light of the COVID-19 epidemic.
