Research Assistant Position Available

 

The Modern Literature and Culture (MLC) Research Centre is seeking an undergraduate work study student to provide support with event planning, research, programming, and curation in the burgeoning field of Modernist Studies. The student will assist with the preparation and execution of the Modernist Studies Association (MSA) Conference, a large-scale academic conference hosted by Ryerson’s MLC Research Centre in collaboration with the University of Toronto, York University and OCAD University. Taking place at the Chelsea Hotel from October 17-20, MSA Toronto 2019 explores themes of “Upheaval and Reconstruction,” and expects over 1,000 modernist scholars, graduate students, and delegates from across the globe (for more details, see msatoronto2019.org). The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in events (or conference) planning or exhibition curation, and will share interests that align with the MLC Research Centre’s foci on the literary and visual culture of modernism.  This position offers valuable experiential learning opportunities to students wishing to pursue a career in event planning, research, and/or editing and writing. Our interdisciplinary MLC community provides a supportive, engaging environment that has assisted many students in their academic and professional goals.
