Alyssa Mackenzie
Alyssa is a proud MLC Alumna and no longer with the Centre.
Alyssa Mackenzie is a PhD student in English at the City University of New York and a Doctoral Scholar in Residence at the MLC Research Centre. She holds a B.A. (2009) with Honours from Dalhousie University and the University of King’s College, and an M.A. (2011) with Distinction from Durham University (UK). Alyssa’s research investigates intersections between highbrow literature and other cultural forms. Her doctoral dissertation will explore relationships between British modernism, women, and early twentieth-century literary and popular periodicals, dealing with such authors as Virginia Woolf and Elizabeth Bowen in the context of the wider literary culture of the period. Alyssa is excited to join the MLC, where she contributes to the Writing and Publishing Zone (PUBZ) and the Centre’s research of the Canadian painter Mary Riter Hamilton.
