Amanda Rebecca Cosco
Amanda is a proud MLC Alumna and no longer with the Centre.
Amanda Rebecca Cosco holds a Master’s of Arts from Ryerson University. Amanda’s thesis work in Literatures of Modernity, which was funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada, focused on the metaphor of hunger in contemporary Canadian women’s writing. Prior to attending Ryerson, Amanda graduated with the highest honours from York University, with a double major in English and professional writing. In her research, Amanda is interested in exploring the relationship between gender, identity and urban settings, asking how the city offers up new subjectivities for women. She seeks to trace the ways in which modern female authors and poets writing about urban spaces have paved the way for contemporary city stories. At the MLC, Amanda is involved in research mobilization and Social Media initiatives.
