Azizah Alawusa is an MA Fashion student (2023-2025) at Toronto Metropolitan University. She has about a decade long experience as a creative designer at her fashion brand and holds a Masters degree in Biochemistry from University of Lagos, Nigeria. Having worked in the Business of Fashion, Azizah is now interested in the exploration of Fashion through the lenses of identity, cultural heritage, and sustainable business models. Her research focuses on enhancing the degradation of existing biomaterials and redefining circular business models in Fashion. At the MLC she is involved in studying the centre's rare collection of war quilts. Her ultimate career aspiration is to engineer technological solutions for Fashion in the healthcare industry.
