Cathy Waszczuk
Cathy is a proud MLC Alumna and no longer with the Centre.
Cathy Waszczuk (MA and BA Honors English, York) is completing an MA in Museum Studies (Toronto, 2012-2014). At the Modern Literature and Culture Research Centre, she is honing her skills in researching themes of modernism, ecopoetics, and avant-garde rhetoric. Cathy also explores the philosophical, art historical, and scientific parallels that inform the avant-garde work produced during this period, focusing especially on Gertrude Stein and her aesthetic complement. Also involved with the centre's archives and special collections, Cathy works to expand her knowledge by exploring curatorial and museological discourses, using these cultural practices to fortify her understanding of what she terms an aesthetics of collection.
