Dr. Kathleen Kellett-Betsos
Dr. Kathleen Kellett-Betsos’ research focuses on Franco-Canadian literature including Franco-Canadian minority literatures outside Quebec. She is working on the representation of urban space in Franco-Ontarian literature, notably in the work of Daniel Poliquin. Using French feminist and cultural theorists such as Irigaray, Kristeva, Bourdieu, and Fatima Mernissi, she also explores women authors from a number of francophone countries. Her interest in popular literature has sparked a recent study on the female detective as “über-mère” in the detective fiction of bestselling Quebec author Chrystine Brouillet.
