TVO Interview with Dr. Gammel on Mary Riter Hamilton

Many Canadians are familiar with the contributions of our country's veterans in the First World War, but less well known are the artists and other civilians whose work helped forge Canada's identity from the scarred battlefields of Europe. Mary Riter Hamilton is one of those artists, a painter whose work captured the devastating costs of war, but whose work has long been forgotten. Irene Gammel, Professor of English and Canada Research Chair in Modern Literature and Culture at Ryerson University, sits down with Piya Chattopadhyay to discuss Hamilton's work and legacy.
