Modern Literature & Culture Research Centre & Gallery

Sarah Durland is an MA Fashion student (2023-2025) at Toronto Metropolitan University, and an alumni of TMU’s Fashion Communication Undergraduate Program (2019-2023). She is passionate about exploring the complexity of women’s history. Her research centres on the duality of domestic craft, exploring it as a symbol of prescribed femininity, while also acknowledging its role in facilitating community, mutual support, and progress. At the MLC, she is involved in the war quilt project, honing her skills in archival processes and object-based research related to women’s history. Sarah hopes to pursue a career in curation and exhibition with a focus on fashion and textiles.
