What does it mean to be Jewish-Canadian and female in a world that is often unaccommodating or even hostile? This question is at the core of At Odds in the World: Essays on Jewish Canadian Women Writer, the new book of critical essays by MLCRC Research Associate Ruth Panofsky. The book discusses several prominent Modernist writers including Miriam Waddington and Adele Wiseman, but also considers more recent writers such as Lilian Nattel. Last night we celebrated the launch of this book in our Modern Literature and Culture Research Centre.
